Trip to Ho Chi Minh

My company trip to Ho Chi Minh for a teambuilding.

Touch down @ HCM... the traffic is terrible!!
It's a city of motorcycles.

Do you know that it's legal to ferry 4 passengers on a motorcycle in HCM?!

The Notro Dame in HCM...

This is where we stay... REX hotel (4 star).. supposed to be located in the city area and just 5mins walk to the popular Ben Thahn market - open air market where you can really bargain to 40-70% off their "quoted" prices...

My favorite vietnamese noodle is @ Pho 24. It's like a fast food in HCM.. service is really fast and the environment is good too (altho the photo does not do justice to it :p)
You can find Pho 24 all over HCM. It's a MUST TRY for the Vietnamese beef noodle, it's really really GOOD!!

Next, another place you will go and MUST EXPERIENCE is the Chu Chi Tunnel. Notice most Vietnamese are small built.. you can hardly find any FAT vietnamese...

See how they can go into the small hole.

For experience, I went the tunnel for a 50m "duck walk" and came out leg muscle ache for the next few days. LOL!!

But i thought it was quite alright for me... not as bad as some people mentioned. Perhaps they have "improved" the place.. not as dark and small as i imagined... but the few mins definitely let you lose some kgs (sweat!).. Quite an experience! Should give it a TRY!

My collegue told me another MUST TRY is their coconut ice cream. Oh yes, HCM has alot of fruits and the fruit juices there are very cheap and good!!!

This place is very near to my hotel.. got it last min before we depart to the airport.

Here are what i bought from the Ben Thahn market :)

(This lovely pink clogs cost 45,000 dong ~ S$4.50 only)
You can choose the design and sizes and they do it on the spot for you...
Bought 2 pairs for my girls :)

Guess how much?
It's only US$2, what a steal!!

Also grab some non-authentic Adidas tees for my family members... quality is quite good tho.
and it's only S$5-6 per piece..

After i came back, i saw some booths selling them @ $12 each..

Other info
It's better to use dong in HCM compared to US$ especially in the markets as some of them are bad in computing the exchange rates and quoted high on US$.

You can change dong @ the airport using S$ or US$. The rates are better compared to changing dong in Singapore.
